In 2012, Andrew Shannon ruined a Claude Monet masterpiece hanging in the National Gallery Ireland by punching it in front of stunned art lovers. He just recently got sentenced for the crime.
punchamonet.gallery is a browser based mini-game where you can virtually re-live the exact same experience: you can walk up to the Monet painting in question and keep punching it until it’s completely destroyed. The project went viral the moment it went live and reached over 200k visitors in the first week, and articles on major art, creativity and news websites.
